Shira Billig was born in Jerusalem, Israel. From an early age, she played musical instruments and later wrote and composed the music for a number of short films. At Tzvia Arts High School, Shira majored in Graphics and also studied cinematography and video editing. She completed her two-year national service as an instructor in an educational program and has stayed on to work in the Media & Development Department as a film director, photographer and video editor. Shira graduated (with excellence) a four-year, full time directing program at the Ma’aleh School of Film and Television in Jerusalem. She also engaged in a B.Ed. program at Herzog College, majoring in Communication and Literature.
Pop 30 (2019), Shira’s graduating film, has been shown at a number of festivals worldwide. Today, Shira works as a film director, cinematographer and video editor.
