Kristen Arter (she/her)
Executive Director
A New Jersey native, Kristen has been with PJFM since 2007. After majoring in Graphic Design at the University of the Arts, she attended La Salle University where she focused on nonprofit administration. An avid music enthusiast and film lover, Kristen previously owned and operated JAM Musical Industries, a one-stop-shop for independent musicians that served a booking agency, recording studio, video production, and tour management.

Matthew Bussy (he/him)
Program Director
A Film & Media Arts major from Temple University, Matt has been obsessed with movies for as long as he can remember! Throughout college, he volunteered for the Philadelphia Film Festival and also interned for the Greater Philadelphia Film Office. In addition, Matt works as a film studio representative for Allied Global Marketing, a full-service integrated marketing agency, assisting with advance screenings of upcoming films throughout the city for press and patrons.

Aso Friedman (he/him/they/them)
Marketing Associate
Aso Friedman has spent their career servicing major brands and as a music critic for renowned publications. They pride themselves on finding creative solutions to roadblocks in marketing that companies often face. They have an enduring love for surrealist films out of eastern Europe in the 70s-80s, including Fantastic Planet (La planèt sauvage) (La Planete Sauvage (1973), The Color of Pomegranates (1969), and Son of the White Mare (1981).

Beth Ilyssa Becker (she/her)
Administrative Assistant
Beth grew up in New Jersey and received her BFA in Musical Theater from the University of the Arts. After working as a performer in and around Philadelphia, she went to the University of Delaware to earn her Masters in American History and a Certificate in Museum Studies. After several years as a museum professional in Philadelphia, Beth took family leave and helped her husband run his law practice. She is a lifelong fan of Jewish storytelling and is thrilled to work at PJFM.
