UNAPOLOGETICALLY JEWISH, a national social media contest sponsored by Philadelphia Jewish Film and Media (PJFM), aims to strengthen and foster bonds with Judaism and explore relationships with Israel through the creation of original content to be presented on social media.

In this contest, EIGHT selected finalists from across the country publish their own digital content on social media from June – August 2024. The finalist with the highest digital engagement rates (# of likes/comments/shares per post and followers) wins a monetary prize of $5,000.

No prior experience in social media or content creation is required.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Applicants must be 18 and over and a legal resident of the United States.
  • Applicants must identify as Jewish.
  • Applicants must publish 18 contest-eligible posts from June 3 – August 30, 2024.
  • Applicants must be available IN PERSON September 19, 2024, for Opening Night of Digital Chutzpah 2024! PJFM’s Digital Media Festival, taking place at the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History. (For more info on travel and contest expenses, see Official Contest Rules.)

HOW TO APPLY:

SELECTION PROCESS:

  • The PJFM Digital Media Committee reviews all applications and selects EIGHT finalists by Friday, May 17, 2024.

ODDS OF WINNING:

  • The approximate odds of winning are based on the number of initial applicants.

  • Friday, May 10, 2024
    Entry deadline.
  • Friday, May 17, 2024
    EIGHT finalists are selected.
  • September 19, 2024
    Opening Night of Digital Chutzpah 2024! PJFM’s Digital Media Festival.

RULES & REGULATIONS:

  • All content must be published on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and/or YouTube. (Posting on all four platforms is not required.)
  • PJFM encourages all applicants to freely express on what makes them unapologetically Jewish. However, the organization will not promote or perpetuate content that meets the definition of antisemitism.

PRIZES:

  • ONE grand prize winner receives $5,000 monetary prize AND contest-created content inclusion in Fall Fest 2024 lineup, PJFM’s signature film and media festival.
  • All EIGHT finalists receive TWO Fall Fest 2024 Badges, which includes full access to the festival.
  • All EIGHT finalists receive $1,000 to fund expenses in relation to this contest. (Production, travel, etc.)

*PJFM holds the right to publish all eight finalists’ content to its social media.
