Dani Menkin is a multi-award winning Israeli American filmmaker. His 2017 feature-length documentary, On the Map, about the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team that galvanized Israel’s national pride, won many audience and best documentary awards, opened to rave critical reviews, and has been featured at over 100 film festivals around the world. Lionsgate has picked up the film for North America distribution.
Menkin’s Israeli Academy Award winning film, 39 Pounds of Love (2005), which he wrote, produced and directed, was shortlisted for the Academy Awards and sold to HBO/Cinemax. His other film, Is That You? (2014), co-written with Eshkol Nevo and starring Alon Aboutboul, won Best Indie Film at the Israeli Academy Awards and received raved reviews in The New York Times. One of his most acclaimed films, Dolphin Boy (2011), sold to over 20 countries globally and was bought by Disney for adaptation.
Menkin is an internationally renowned speaker and film juror at international festivals around the world, as well as a film professor in universities and colleges in Israel and the USA. He co-founded and manages Hey Jude Productions and resides in the Los Angeles area with his family.
