Daniel Schechter has been writing and directing his own films for over 15 years. His last project, Life of Crime (2013), based on a novel by Elmore Leonard and starring Jennifer Aniston, closed the Toronto International Film Festival. Before that, Schechter won many awards for his lower-budget feature films Supporting Characters (2012), starring Alex Karpovsky and Lena Dunham, and Goodbye Baby (2007), starring Christine Evangelista and Fred Armisen. His latest project, Safe Spaces, had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival and stars Justin Long, Kate Berlant, Richard Schiff and Fran Drescher. He lives and works in New York City.
