German director Caroline Link has written and directed for both television and film. Her first feature, Beyond Silence (1996), was nominated for an Oscar and her third feature, Nowhere in Africa (2001), won the Academy Award, making her the second female director of a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar winner. Link’s other features include Annaluise & Anton (1999), A Year Ago in Winter (2008), Exit Marrakech (2013), and most recently, When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit (2019), which was based on the semi-autographical novel by Judith Kerr.
