Amit Hai Cohen is a musician, filmmaker, and self-taught curator working on the Jerusalem-Morocco axis. He has composed orchestral works, as well as music for dance and film, in addition to creating short films and video art. Along with his life and work partner, singer and artist Neta Elkayam, Amit has produced numerous musical projects, including “Abiadi” and “Arenas,” collaborating with the best artists on the North African scene in Israel and internationally. In 2019, Amit curated “Ziara,” the Jerusalem Biennale’s flagship exhibit of work by current Moroccan artists from all over the world. His mother was born in Tizgui, an Amazigh village close to Ouarzazate, and his father was born in Djerba, Tunisia. His roots strongly influence his art.
