Evan Benn is an award-winning journalist and The Philadelphia Inquirer’s first Director of Editorial Marketing. A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Benn wrote his first front-page story at age 14 for his hometown paper, The York (Pa.) Dispatch and Sunday News. He went on to be named Pennsylvania’s Most Promising Journalist by the Associated Press Managing Editors and was twice named Florida Young Journalist of the Year by the Society of Professional Journalists.

Benn is the former Food Editor of The Miami Herald and Editor-in-Chief of INDULGE, the Herald’s luxury lifestyle magazine. He was also a Features Editor, beer columnist and restaurant critic for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, where he authored a book about craft beer. Benn’s freelance writing on food and travel has appeared in The New York Times, Bon Appetit, Travel & Leisure, Beer Advocate, Culture, Inspirato, Afar and other publications. He currently serves on the James Beard Foundation’s Restaurant and Chef Awards Committee.
